I am a mid-west girl, grew up in a one stoplight town in Indiana, and even though I love big cities and many different cultures, I still have my mid-western ideals. Ideals of working hard for your dreams, loyalty, generosity, and delicious homemade food. I feel these ideals add to who I am as a caterer and business owner.
Before kids and family, I had a career in merchandise planning for retail companies such as Tommy Hilfiger, Saks Fifth Avenue and Esprit. This background combined my creative and analytical side, but I have always gravitated towards a more creative life. After I started a family, cooking gave me this creative outlet. Soon I started doing parties for family and friends and then friends of friends and that was the beginning of Sheila Barton Events.
These parties started out as small events but I am insistent upon putting as much attention to detail in these intimate parties as I am for a party of a hundred or more! I believe in a completely customized event. I am a DIY caterer. Give me a single idea, theme or color and I will build an entire menu and venue around it. Not only do I customize style, but I customize the menu. My passion is to create a special menu for you and your guests. I love the challenge of building a menu to include vegetarians, vegans and gluten or dairy intolerant guests.
For me, it comes down to those mid-western ideals of hard work and loyalty. I want to give every client and guest the perfect experience. From the beginning planning phase, to the moment the first guest walks through the door and is offered a signature craft cocktail to the moment the last guest leaves with happy memories, I want every detail thoroughly crafted to create an incredible event.
